Professional Development

Standarized testing season is about to begin. And as history teaches us, it is inevitable that some educators around the state (and around the country) will be accused of testing improprieties.

Here is an essential guide from LFT General Counsel Larry Samuel to guard against mistakes, errors and stress during testing season.

Have you ever seen a news report or talk show discuss issues around teaching and learning and thought to yourself or said to your colleagues, “Why don’t they just ask a real teacher about (you fill in the blank)?”

The AFT Teacher Leaders Program is a union-sponsored program designed to help prepare YOU to be that classroom teacher, facilitating discussion of the issues that affect our profession both here in New Orleans and nationally.

LFT will host a series of self-care professional development courses open to members of LFT across the state of Louisiana.  These courses will provide self-care tips to educators.

All the materials for the workshop can be found here.

The recording of the workshop can be seen here.

We hope you can attend future workshops with us in the future.
